The curved edges make this phone feel comfortable in the hand, but the rear panel is easily reflected. Within a few days of use, we noticed small scratch marks on the lower and sides of the back panel. The finish is also very shiny and picks up fingerprints and smokes easily.
There are three color options – Royal Blue, Frozen Black and Glamor Red. We have the Glamor Red version to review and its gradual pattern is between the sheer and dark maroon glass shifting with silver traces at the bottom. For a similar look, the gradual finish extends all the way to the frame of this phone. In Frozen Black, it does not have a top-down color shift effect.
Fingerprint sensor positioning is easy. The biggest bump of the camera is the edge of an eye as it stands out prominently. The popup module for the front camera is compatible with the rear camera just like the vivo v15 Pro. The motorized selfie camera module is easily removed within a second. It remains to be seen how the mechanism will work after using the extension, so we suggest some precautions when using it.

vivo v15 features
vivo v15 has an interesting mix of hardware. We will have a Super AMOLED panel, which has a vivo v15 Pro, especially given that both the Samsung Galaxy A50 (review) and Galaxy A30 (review) have significantly lower prices. There are super AMOLED panels.

vivo v15 Akata Core is powered by MediaTek Helio P70SC. Clicked at 2.1 GHz, with four ARM Cortex-A73 cores for all heavy lifting and another four power efficient Cortex-A53 cores. While it is a fairly capable processor, vivo v15’s price tag guarantees some improvements. For reference, the Realm 3 (review) packs the same MediaTek Helio P70 processor, but costs one-third the price of vivo v15′s question.
With this SoC, you get 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 256 GB using a microSD card. vivo v15 is available in single configuration and is priced at Rs. 23,990.
In addition to its eye-catching aesthetics, vivo v15 Pro’s main focus is on its imaging hardware, specifically its 32-megapixel f / 2.0 selfie shooter, similar to vivo v15 Pro. The rear setup has a 1 / 2.8-inch sensor and a 12-megapixel camera with f / 1.78 aperture. It also has an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera with f / 2.2 aperture. It is described as having a 120-degree field of view, however, it actually receives 108-degree wide shots after distorting the lens.
The battery is a 4,000 mAh unit and the phone supports Vivo’s dual engine fast charging. The use of the microUSB port on vivo v15 is surprising as well as disappointing, as lower-priced phones have already adopted the USB Type-C standard.
The fingerprint sensor on the vivo v15 Pro’s display does not make it a more affordable model, and so is vivo v15’s rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
On the software side, vivo v15 runs Android 9 Pie-based FunTouch OS 9, and our review unit has a January security patch. If you are coming from stock Android, there is a big risk of learning, especially when you are searching in the Settings app.
The application does not have a drawer, so you have to swipe on your home screen to see all your applications. Swiping to the right of the first home screen will open the Smart Launcher where you can find weather work cards, a to-do list, app shortcuts and news headlines. There is a universal search bar that can be used to search for an app, jump into system settings, or search the web quickly.
vivo v15 display, camera, and battery life
Before we talk about vivo v15‘s performance, let’s talk about performance. The color output is good and the text looks crisp. When viewed from different angles, viewing angles with minimal color change are also decent.
Thanks to the all-screen design of this phone, I enjoyed playing games and watching full HD 60 fps videos. vivo v15‘s default color profile is a bit quieter, but you can adjust the color temperature to your liking. There is also an option to adjust the color tone to reduce eye fatigue, which can be either activated manually or scheduled.
As far as camera performance is concerned, vivo v15 has proved quite capable. The camera UI is practically identical to that on vivo v15 Pro. Shortcuts are placed at the bottom of the document scanning mode, pro mode, a beauty, and AR stickers, while the shutter button has larger controls for wide angle format, scene selection and portrait format. On the top one, you can find the settings section, control for portrait lighting effects, live images and HDR format.
vivo v15 really shines when it comes to macro shots. Articles with rich color profiles were captured in great detail. The colors came to life, gradually subdued, and the features of the surfaces were noticeable when zoomed. While the close-up shots captured by the Redmi Note 7 Pro are better, those captured by vivo v15 can be captured by themselves. The daylight shots are crisp with good dynamic range and sophistication.
